Like with skyrim, the improved textures are a good starting place but there are lots of little bits like "tree bark" or "clothing textures" or whatever else. A lot of the things that really make the game look fantastic require some amount of tweaking to your personal taste, like Oblivion Reloaded (I prefer OR Lite), ENBs, and of course, lots of overwriting specific bits of texture packs, generating your own LODs (TES4LODgen and tes4ll), and tweaking lighting and stuff for maximum immersion. In general, there is no "80% graphics, 20% effort" modding for Oblivion. They can't be installed with a mod manager but installation is pretty easy, it's not much different than Skyrim ENBs. You could also get a popular ENB if you want, like Cyrodiil ENB, Monkey ENB, Cinematic ENB, or NAO ENB. IMO some of the "Grass, Trees, and Landscape" mods like Farcry Grass Expanded and Arboretum are must-haves for me as well. If you want realistic lighting and weather, check out All Natural, if you just want better weather, NAO is another option. I would get all of the big mesh and texture packs like Mesh Improvement Project, Weapon Improvement Project, and OUT textures. PLEASE HELP ME!! I have tried downloading and installing the mods exactly as they suggested with MO2, even tried adding them manually with OBMM and Wrye and everything.
The original body textures are just so terrible and I feel like wanting my character to have hips and titties is not too much to ask. I really need some individual help at this point with getting this to work. BOSS doesn't even recognize the mods, so the only things in my load order currently are the DLC things. I tried everything from pasting code into the Data folder to downloading SkyBSA, and I even uninstalled and completely started brand new with no mods.
I have followed every instruction to a T and even browsed around to find people with the same issues. I tried adding HGEC and even some HGEC re-textures. Everything has been working fine until I try to download a body mod. I have watched many videos about correctly downloading OBSE, Wyre Bash, OBMM, MO2, and BOSS. I have some experience with downloading mods, but I knew going into it that Oblivion is a much harder game to mod.
