If you need to write a CDFS disc, for use in MP3 capable players etc. Thus, they have removed any ability to write CDFS discs begining with Vista. However, Microsoft has decided that we do not need this highly compatable format anylonger and has created UDF, or in their words, LFS.
Most, if not all, versions of Windows can read a disk that is written in the CDFS format. Much like FAT, FAT32 and NTFS is a file system used for hard drives. Overall, the Wolfram CDF Player was designed to play Wolfram Demonstrations Project and Mathematica files.First, CDFS, offically called ISO9660, refers to a file system used for CDs and DVDs. On Linux systems, CDF Player currently supports desktop functionality only.
For Windows and Mac OS X, Wolfram CDF Player offers desktop and web plugin functionality. Other Wolfram Demonstration Projects are contributed everyday by professionals, educators, researchers, and students. Thousand samples of player-interactive documents made with the use of Mathematica are free to be viewed on Wolfram’s site. The software is packed with a full Mathematica tool that allows users to play documents, presentations, blogs, reports, articles, information and knowledge applications, books, courseware, and more or to power applets aside from providing a reader or runtime CDF Player. Wolfram CDF Player is an application developed by Wolfram Research capable of letting users explore interactive documents in one’s own web browser, views Mathematica examples, reports and files, and interact with applications from the Wolfram Demonstration projects.
